2000 grand prix gt 3800 stalling issue
My 00 grand prix will start and in the mornings.
After getting up to temp the rpm drops or jumps around and then drops and the car stalls. It has stalled when idle at a light and has stalled while driving. Each time it stalled I've been able to start right back up. Sometimes it would run for a few minutes sometimes it would stall again immediately. I heard there's a fuel pump resistor but upon looking my model doesn't have one. Only thing I've replaced is the fuel filter. Not sure if I should start looking at the pump or perhaps something else. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks |

Re: 2000 grand prix gt 3800 stalling issue
I think I found the problem.
Looks like I'm leaking fuel where the fuel line connects to the fuel rail. Without removing the lock clip of the connector, I pushed down on the connector and it began to drip. Does the connector need to replaced or is it as simple as an o ring that needs to be replaced? |

Re: 2000 grand prix gt 3800 stalling issue
I suggest measuring the fuel pressure with a gauge. The leak at the fitting certainly needs repair, but is it responsible for the stalls? Maybe not. Any codes?

Re: 2000 grand prix gt 3800 stalling issue
Pull the vac line off of the f/p regulator, looking to smelling for fuel in the line....also, see if the car runs better with the MAF disconnected.....also check for a gummed up IAC pintle, and clean the throttle plate....
