2009 Montana sv6
Motor has a whining when driving then van quits, after a couple minutes can restart and drive

2009 Montana sv6....motor whines while driving then engine quites. After a few minutes can restart engine and drive for a bit before it stops again. Does not whine in park unless I accelerate engine

You probably have more than one problem. The whining could be any number of things, like a bad bearing in any of the rotating belt driven components, low power steering or transmission fluid. A stethoscope would help isolate that noise. As far as the stalling goes, you need to figure out if its losing fuel or spark. You may have a ignition module going out, crankshaft sensor, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, ect...

My previous post stated that my Montana would quite while driving and a winning sound
NOW the trans clunks and car slowly stops trans whines. After turns off engine for 30 seconds van will move again for another 5 or 10 minutes and then the same thing happens. Trans dip stick shows full? |
