replaced booster. now cruise don,t work=-

brake booster replaced by my skilled backyard mechanic.
now the cruise control ain,t working.
i,m assuming the cable was pinched.
how easy is it to replace the cruise control cable?

Absolutely. How does this get forgotten so often?






First Guess: Vacuum related, or caused by misadjustment of the brake switch. Fixing the adjustment of the brake switch took longer than the rest of the booster replacement on my '92. The '93 brake switch was improved.

Either way, this seems to be the fault of the guy who installed the booster, so let him fix it. That's his responsibility.

i apologise.

1998 lumina, 3.1 litre. about 232,000 miles on it.
cruise control always worked perfectly.

i,ve been posting so much about a brake booster issue that i figured i was replying or whatever. or everyone knew my junk automatically.

sorry again.

OK...I believe the cruise control module is mounted on the left (drivers) side strut tower. That is in the area of the booster. I would check to be sure the module is plugged in, then verify that the cable from the module is ok between the module and the throttle body. If all that is ok, as stated by another poster, I would check the adjustment of the brake switch.
