Re: Sienna Remote Programing

I just programmed my SIENNA XLE 04 with some procedere I found for a highlander ...

1. Start with the following conditions: You are in the drivers seat.
a. Key is out of the ignition
b. Driver door is open (all other doors closed)
c. Driver door is unlocked (other doors don't matter)
2. Insert and remove the key from the ignition twice within 5 seconds.
3. Close and open the drivers door twice within 40 seconds.
4. Insert the key into the ignition and remove it.
5. Close and open the drivers door twice within 40 seconds.
6. Insert the key into the ignition.
7. Close the door
8. Turn the key in the ignition on and then off.
9. Remove the key from the ignition.
10. The power locks should automatically cycle once to indicate that you have successfully entered program mode.
11. Within 40 seconds of the entering program mode.
a. press both transmitter lock and unlock buttons SIMULTANEOUSLY for a duration of from 1 to 1.5 seconds.
b. within 3 seconds, press the transmitter lock button for more than 1 second and release.
c. If the transmitter has been sucessfully programmed, the power locks will automatically cycle once. If they cycle twice, the remote has not been accepted.
d. If multiple remotes are to be programmed, repeat steps A-C.
12. Open the driver's door to leave programming mode

You should be done, check the remotes!

Hope this is of help for someone else as well to save some bucks ...

mode.

Re: Sienna Remote Programing

Does anyone know how to program the remote on the 2011 Sienna? They use the same model remote as the older years, but something seems to have changed in the instructions. I tried the instructions from the older model, but I never get the lock/unlock confirmation.

Re: Sienna Remote Programing

I don't know about a 2011, but this is the correct program instructions for the 1999-2003 Sienna any body style power doors or not. The other post had you removing the key too many times. If it doesn't work, you did it wrong.

Smile Re: Sienna Remote Programing

I followed some instructions posted and was able to program a remote for my 2004 Sienna XLE/AWD. When I compared to this post there was one difference with the step after the holding of the lock unlock buttons simultaneously. My instrucitions said to immediately press the unlock buy itself. The instructions here said wait 3 seconds and press the lock button. Try both ways in case one way did not work. I have the type 3 remote with five buttons. The two passenge sider door buttons worked. There is a type 4 remote that has six buttons so you can open the lift gate. Now I need to get a key cut and programmed. All I have is a submaster and no record of key number. I hope the Dealership can help cut by using my vin number or something. All I have is a submaster so I dont want to cut the key off of that because I would like for it to be a master key.

Re: Sienna Remote Programing

Hello I have a 2008 Sienna and had to replace the keyless entry. I see a few are seeing the instructions work on the locks but not the sliding doors. I had the same problem and followed the instuctions again but before opening the door to lock in the setting I pressed both buttons for the sliding doors as well and heard it beep then I opened the drivers door and tested it out. It works fine now. I had looked everywhere online but could not find this answer. I hope it helps someone.

Re: Sienna Remote Programing

If anyone's still trying to figure this out for their 1999-2003 Sienna, find yourself this part: 89741-08030. It's a $400-$500 OEM part but I've just seen one on EBay for $75 and then pulled one at a junkyard for $10. Plugged it into the 7-socket harness in the spot mentioned by others in this thread (behind the drop-down tray in the center console) and it worked like a gem.

The programming sequence was driver's door open and unlocked, key in and out of ignition once, cycle driver's door lock 5 times, close and open driver's door, cycle door lock 5 times again, put key in ignition and turn to ON and back twice (not starting the vehicle), then remove the key. This didn't work for me at all until I put in the receiver, and then it worked the first time and seemed completely forgiving about timing. If it's not working for you, you probably don't have the receiver.

As a side note, I have a 2001 CE that has power door locks and security (no power doors). Keyless was an option, not standard, and the difference is that receiver.
