98 Mustang 3.6 Automatice dies when put in reverse

The car idles fine in park, neutral, and drive, but dies when I put it in reverse. Every mechanic I have called in a fifty mile radius has no clue why. The error codes it threw were "Intake Air temperature sensor circuit high" and "Mass or volume Air flow "A" circuit low." The guys who did the test say these codes don't apply to the problem I am having. Trying everything. Anyone else have this problem or know what it could be? Thanks

Maybe a leak or clog in the valve body? Torque converter maybe? Have you checked the fluid? When was the last time you had your transmission flushed? What happens if you shift into drive first then into reverse from there?
