2007 Rendezvous Starting Issue
I have the same starting issue as I've seen from several people on here, but I don't know how to fix it. The problem is that every time I start my Rendezvous, I have to press the accelerator several times so that it will not die. If I don't, the RPM gauge will fall to 500 RPM, pause, and then fall to 0. On another post I saw with this issue, somebody said to clean the throttle body. Unfortunately, I am not very knowledgeable of engines and how they work, so I do not know how to do this. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. By the way, my Rendezvous is a 2007 CX model, just so we're clear on that.

![]() It's the black accordion hose to the right in the picture. I did mine on the car. Remove the center hose. Get some throttle body cleaner. Put some rags under the throttle body. Spray the inside, open butterfly valve, spray and try to wipe the carbon buildup out of the mouth.

Re: 2007 Rendezvous Starting Issue
Is this a fly by wire throttle body, or does it have a cable connected to it?
Have you had it scanned for codes? |

Re: 2007 Rendezvous Starting Issue
Yeah, if it's fly by wire, you thoroughly clean the throttle body and plate......then you remove both battery cables and hold the ends together for a minute....this resets every module in the vehicle.....then reconnect the pos, and then the negative cable......
