02 passat turbo

i went to the store and coming up to a stop sign the cars breaks and gas pedal stopped working. i had it towed back to my house and i ran the codes. it came up the camshaft position sensor so i replaced and now it still only cranks and wont start. i charged the battery thinking it would help. someone told me it might be the fuel pump but i cant keep putting parts into it that aren't wrong with it. help me please!
