After 6 Month sleep brake light
Hi,
my 98 Lumina with 3.8 V6 engine have an problem. The lumina had slept last 6 month. Today I start the lumina and the red breaks light in dash was on. Park brake was not active, and the daylight was on so the brake switch is working. Brake fluid is full. Is the sensor broken? Did I have to drive a while? Battery was not plugged in the last 6 month. Brakes are working good. Regards Christopher. |

Re: After 6 Month sleep brake light
Mc,
If ONLY the red BRAKE lamp is on and NOT the ABS lamp, there is a chance the fluid level sensor on the side of the brake fluid reservoir is not satisfied. The switch connector can be jumpered to test the circuit. It may also be worthwhile to check the park brake switch.

Re: After 6 Month sleep brake light
Hi,
can too much water in brake fluid destroy the sensor? The park brake light is another then the red (!) brake light, so the switch for park brake should be work? Regards Christopher. |
