Replacing timing chain on 1993 Silverado
Do I have to remove the oil pan to replace the timing chain and front seal on a 1993 Chevy Silverado?

Usually you can remove the bolts on the front of the pan gasket and loosen up somewhat as the gasket for the bottom of the cover gasket has small sides to install. Instructions in gasket kit.
I didn't know they made a Silverado in 1993. |

Re: Replacing timing chain on 1993 Silverado
when removing the front cover you must be careful when removing so as to not damage the oil pan seal at the cover mating surface. use a plastic tool to free the bond and carefully remove the cover. when your ready to install cover the surfaces must be free of all oils. use a mineral based paint thinner . apply a gasket sealer to the surface and allow to stiffen 45 min then install the cover.
