I still maintain that all you really need to live out the zombies is a sturdy fence around your place. IE not of the White Picket or Chain Link varieties. Living in tents in the woods is just asking to get your ass eating out by a zombie. Go to the highway, hot wire a GreyHound bus, bar up the windows... you've got a zombie proof mobile. Also the crossbow seems to be one of the better weapons... yet they've made medical runs and stop at a bar on occasion, but nobody is hitting up the outdoor/hunting/sporting good stores... I'm poking all sorts of holes in all sorts of stories.
