93" chevy. stalls

93" chevy, k 1500 305 engine, stalled, then hard to restart lots of black smoke, fuel, no air ? bad mixture ? when it starts it backfires, runs rough black smoke, and stalls again. dist. module ck. o.k. cap and rotor good.
any suggestions. help.

Magnets on the pickup coil broken? Common problem.

There's a dozen things that can cause those symptoms. Faulty plug wires, faulty MAP sensor, faulty coolant sensor, etc. Connect a scan tool and look at the data stream in addition to whatever codes might be stored.

Sounds like to much fuel could be bad injector fp regulatoror map problem check the vac line from the back of TB to map. Look at the spray pattern
On injectors should be fine spray if to much fuel should be pulseing if it just pours out bad injector might be bad regulator but they don't go bad very often usually a map or injector.

For got about coolant sensor I am assuming you don't have a ondo one scantool that's why I didn't say to use one. On the ect un plugged They will read -40 degree if you jumper the terminal with a test light should think the engine is warm. That rich the plugs could be carbon fouled also?
