problems with s10

few months ago, my truck started to stall. It happens if I go real slow, if I'm in a drive thru, or at a stop light/stop sign. It's like it wants to die and the only way I can "kick" it out of that is if I basically floor it and gain good momentum back up. It also smells of gas and sputters. It sounds like a lawnmower when I start it lol and shakes. Any ideas? Thanks!
