Cherokee 99 Sport Anti Theft

I am having trouble with my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 5 speed manual transmission. I wasn't able to start it and was going to have it towed, but the tow truck driver said it was the anti theft device. He went around unlocking/locking doors and lift gate and it started. I had no trouble until it sat for 24 hours without being used. Then the same thing. I eventually did the right order of opening and locking doors with the key because I finally got it started. Then same thing is happening now - it wasn't driven yesterday. Still having trouble figuring out the sequence to get the anti theft disengaged. Any ideas???
