That happens to me occasionally too. There must have been 1 or 2 other people on AF when you tried to quote, so it wouldn't let you, to prevent too much traffic from shutting the server down. Also strange that only on rare occurrences can I actually get a Smilie to post, from clicking it on the icon from the list on the right side of the Rely to Thread page.
