Where's that confounded bell?

I'm so sick of that warning bell going off that I just want to remove it and be done with it. Only problem is that I can't seem to locate it. It sounds like it's close to the fuse panel on the driver's side of the dash, but it's so loud there that I can't seem to pinpoint it.

Would anybody know where it is, so I can just yank it out? Or maybe which fuse controls it, is there is one?

Why is the warning going off? Most of the chimes anymore go through the radio, so you hear them through the speakers. Did not state what year Alero you have.

Sorry, you're right. It's a 2001 Alero. The bell goes off just a few minutes after I start driving, because of a broken spring in the front strut assembly, fooling the car into thinking the tire pressure is low (which it isn't). I'm sure this chime isn't going through the radio, but it sounds like it's somewhere behind the instrument cluster. I'm sick of hearing it, and I can live perfectly well without it, so I'd like to take it out. I just can't tell exactly where it is.

The info according to GM is that the radio generates the chimes and the sound is emmited from the L/F door speaker. I guess you could disconnect that speaker and see if if goes away? This info is for your 2001 Alero...

If you read the owner's manual, it states that there is a chime module attached to the radio.

Remove the radio to get at this module, remove it and no more chimes whatsoever. That also means no chime for key left in ignition or lights left on however. As already stated, the manual also says chime sounds come from the driver's door speaker.
