What a drag! I'm glad mine have not given me any trouble. Ours is a 2000 with about 133k miles on it.

just curious how this is making out? which brand did you go to, and how it's holding up.

i'm in the midst of replacing both of mine (02 w/ 160k) and have RA a1 cardone units waiting to go in. kinda have a bad feeling but no ford OEM pieces, and raxles won't. so this is what i'm left with...

Best bet is a rebuilt one from autozone or something. It's still an oem unit for the most part. Those "new" Chinese axles are all complete junk. Avoid at all costs. They weigh at most 1/3rd of what oem ones weigh and that's not for the better. Too bad raxles aren't available. I would have been happy to pay for them.
