97 s10 door not closing all the way

is there any adjustments i can make to the latch or the hinges to make it where it shuts better and doesnt rattle

You can loosen up the strike post and move it up/down in/out. Mark it with a sharpee before you start so you can always go back to original setting.

Are the hinge pin bushings worn out? Open the door and try and lift up on it, if there is movement, the pins and bushings in the hinges need to be replaced. Usually the drivers door is worse that the passenger door.
