VDO Gauges from 1993 Audi Coupe

Hi guys, I am new here. Sorry if I posted this on a wrong thread. Recently I just bought this set of vdo gauges on ebay, but I am not sure what type of sender does it compatible with, some sender has 1 wire for temperature gauge, some has 2 wires and for the pressure sender some has 2 wires some has 3 wires. Besides how can I test those gauges without the sender, because I have read on some websites they mentioned the gauges is actually resistance dependent, so my question is can I get a potentiometer connect to them to play around with it? Anyone how the connection should be?
