Eg hatch: +40 or +45 offset for 16" wheel?

The Rota C8's I am looking at (16") come in a +40 offset as well as +45 offset. I would like to drop the car 2.25" or so. It will be on coilovers. Will a +45 offset intefere with anything behind the wheel? I heard something about certain brakes not being able to work with such an high offset.

Anyone riding +45 on 16's?

My main thing with the +40 is rubbing. I've read where a few people have the 40+ and dropped around 1.5" and have rubbing problems.

I guess I could always rolll or trim the fenders down

You probably won't have much problems with the +40offset if you just drop it. If your going to fix your camber afterwards, then their might be some rubbing problems.

I have a 7" wide rim with a 38 offset and my car is dropped +/-2,5" and I don't rub (alltough it's a close one).

Rubbing also depends on the struts your going to use. If your struts are hard enough, the change that you'll rub will be a lot smaller.

Its fine for normal driving
but..
when i hit hard bumps or corner a bumpy corner i can hear the wheel scrape my fender
its such an awful sound.. i hope its just hitting the wheel well.. but we'll find out if my fender comes off one day..

If the wheel is 16x7" and 45mm offset you should be fine. I'm running 16x7.5" 45mm offset and the wheel was rubbing the rear upper control arm for a bit until I filed it down. Now it's fine.

Got the wheels

They are +40mm not 45, but that is not a big deal. 2 are bronze 2 are gunmetal

Awaiting 2 gunmetals and UPS to pick up the bronze ones
