98 T&C VSS Check
Does anyone out there know how to diagnose my Vehicle Security System on my 98 LXi? I was wondering if this system can SHUT DOWN my PCM. I'm still going to order a new PCM for my NO START problem after verifying that all wiring, grounds, relays, fuses, battery and associated starter/fuel pump work OK. Original problem- driving down highway and engine QUIT with no RESTART/CRANK at all. Code 940 on odometer self-test. Thanks!

You turn the key and you get nothing, not even a click?
940 indicates loss of CCD messaging from PCM Is the alarm system light on constantly? The VTSS engine immobilizer cuts power to the fuel injectors to kill the engine. If you can prove that's happening then maybe the PCM is the culprit. Trouble is it's the BCM that tells the PCM to do that: http://www.justanswer.com/uploads/ga...43_binder2.pdf

No, the alarm system trouble light on dash is never lit. Any other options to rule out VTSS? I'm still thinking the PCM is preventing me from starting engine. The starter won't even crank.
