Jesus. So I just went outside to smoke a cigarette, at 1:45am. First 30 seconds are fine; peaceful with little noise from the local main road not too far from here, shit is quiet.

Out of no where I hear a very loud...
"Noooo!" *pause* "Fuckkkkkkk!" *pause* "Nooooo!" Followed by complete fucking silence until I was finished with my cigarette.

I suppose I should acknowledge that I'm pretty drunk and high, so it was extra creepy. But honestly, I'm pretty numb to weird shit like that, because...

Yeah, I even listened for sirens for a while after too. Never heard anything. I'm pretty sure it was the guy that moved in across the street over the summer with his family. My immediate thoughts were that his dog got hit by a car or plow without him realizing it, his car or truck had a flat tire and he was late for work (night shift), or he just killed his wife and/or kids. When it's nice out I usually hear his wife and kids outside, but it's been snowing lately. So the jury's still out on this one... or possibly hasn't been gathered yet.

Get out of the grocery store, with the radio on a classic rock channel, only to hear the end of an Emergency Broadcast. Go to the drug store down the road (forgot lotto tickets because I'm a sucker), and when I get to the counter, their little radio is playing the end of an Emergency Broadcast. I'm now 2 roads away from the house, and I turn it to a local shit rock station. Bam, "This is a monthly test of the Emergency Broadcast System." Get inside, mom's watching some real housewives trash TV show, and again, "This is a test..." Thank God I caught the beginning of those last 2 tests, or I'd be shitting a brick, curled up in a ball in out nasty ass basement right now.
