Geo,
I am not SURE about anything. I am quite sure though that for some reason Nissan uses either the Bxx or the Nxx designation for Sentra platforms almost at will.

If they are the same, why do they have different platform designations?
Beats me! Well, circumstantial evidence supporting the assertion that B(x) == N(x+1)...

1. N(x+1) production dates are same as B(x) dates.
2. I have a N14 Sunny 2.0 GTi and Nissan FSMs for both the B13 Sentra and the N14 Sunny. They are almost identical. Only differences I found (until now) were on the emmission stuff and small such in the suspension rates.
3. Family has an N15 Almera 1600 and Nissan FSMs for both the B14 Sentra and the N15 Almera. Same story, almost identical.
4. All aftermarket parts I am aware of (including suspension and bracing) and several OEM chassis parts are interchangeable between B13/N14. Same fro B14/N15.
5. The NX went to the States as B13 and in Europe as N14. This is a nice indicator since there were no sub-models etc. Just 1.6 and 2.0liter NXs using either B13 or N14.
6. Finally, I have stumbled upon various sub-designations about chasses and even those are almost identical between these two platforms.

Examples I have found:

N14, FN14, FNN14, EN14, HN14, SN14, RNN14
B13, FB13, FNB13, EB13, HB13, SB13, ??????

N15, FN15, FNN15, EN15, HN15, HNN15, SN15, SNN15, JN15
B14, FB14, FNB14, EB14, HB14, ??????, SB14, SNB14, ????

Not only that but with the exception of the Sentra designation in the US, Sunny and Pulsar seem to be the names of choice for all the aforementioned models around the world. For example we have Sunnys using the B13, N14 and B14 platforms (N15 as far as I know appears only as Almera and Pulsar).

In any case, if you know otherwise I will be more than glad to be corrected. I look forward to a major "investment" in suspension/chassis aftermarket parts the States and I will definitely need to know any difrences there might be.

Chris

Have you had a chance to take a pic of your intake yet?

Very interesting info. Man, I wish I could learn more, but my little monkey brain is filling fast. Actually I have too many other things going on to get too involved in figuring this out right now. Maybe down the road..... Good info though.

Actually, I know it's not just a B13 or N14. That much I do know. The NX is a KB13 or maybe HKB13. I know for sure the B13 is powered by a 1.6 litre engine.

I think you have more info on this than me. I'm interested in knowing the particulars, but like I said, not at this time.

As for parts, what are you looking for?

Way cool. I should be having a geekout in 2 or 3 weeks. I was supposed to finalize this weekend, but it was, ah..... strange.

Anyway, probably in 3 weeks. I'm not sure though. I will probably be in SA soon. I have to go there for a photo shoot.

I know the feeling but a big difference Geo. You are not sure because you tried so many you lost it!! I am not sure because I read so many I lost it!

I know the feeling Geo but I have news for you. It is this little "age" thing that precludes our brains from absorbing info! Looong time ago brain was always empty. Now it is always full and I have to get rid of "unused" info all the time. :-((

Now, just when I had it layed down nicely you have to come in and spoil it! No Ks on my list means I have to go back and update it again... Well, it will keep me busy...

Hopefully some time "Really Soon Now" I will put everything in a nice little "heritage" document and pass it around. (of course R-S-N in my case is "somewhere down the road"...)

The works. Excluding the Koni-GC combo and the ES bushings & inserts I have a bone-STOCK and without the emmisions stuff you guys get over there. My car is speced to the US87 emmisions specs (no EGR-BPT) meaning I have a nice little platform.

So in order of importance I will get...

Rear STB (probably from Whiteline Australia)
N-Tech Under brace
Rear Sway-Adjustable
Front Sway adjustable (not needed but what the heck)
Shortened coilovers all around + GC Camber/Caster plates

CAI-Headers-Exhaust
S3_JWT ECU (maybe)...

Excluding the Exhaust, all the rest have to come from the US or AU.

Particularly in the coilover issue I am always open to suggestions. I never figured out whether the cost of shortened struts is justified over the KONI-GC combo I already have...

Take care and do not stress your brain too much! It's all downhill from here on (at least that's what physiology says).

If you come to SA, let me know maybe a day or two in advance.
