97 bravada with a sputter
I have a 97 bravado that at idle will sputter and at take off will do the same thing, but once I get going it goes away and is fine. I did a complete tune up on it as well as replaced the idle air control valve, the tps sensor and the egr valve and it still does it. any suggestions what it might be. anything would help at this point.

Is the Check Engine light on?
Look at all the vacuum hoses and check for cracks. You might check for loose bolts holding the intake manifold to the engine.

Re: 97 bravada with a sputter
i have not checked for a vacuum leak yet. there is no light on because the person i got it from either pulled the bulb or it is burnt out. when i turn on the ignition the check engine light does not come on and for that i was told that the scan tool will not bring up a code if no bulb is in it. i went to 3 different parts stores and all 3 said the same thing. any particular line i should check for a leak. i mean is there one that tends to leak the most.

Re: 97 bravada with a sputter
Have it checked for codes......bad light bulb has nothing to do with whether a code has been set....

Re: 97 bravada with a sputter
So the Check Engine light bulb being out won't keep a code reader from retrieving any codes stored?
