2011 Jetta headlights come on middle of the night

We've had the car about a year, and the past month or two the headlights have started coming on in the middle of the night with no one in the car, and this morning it drained the battery. Checking the car in the morning and the lights turn back off when I open the door (I believe), and of course the headlight switch is turned off.

Left it with a technician overnight for a few nights last week, but of course it never happened with them. Has turned on every night since.

Any help or ideas why this is happening would be appreciated.
