Chevy SSR

Anyone get a chance to see the SSR's public unveiling the other day?
They had it in Downtown at the Civic Center, a bunch of the muckity mucks from here got to go but I did not get invited.

I think it's pretty cool that GM finally built a concept car after sitting back and watching the other guys for years. They should be showing up at the dealers this summer.

Anyone plan to get one?

I will have to see what they look like in person, but I will definitly have to go down and take one for a drive.

Yeah Unfortunatley they had to beefcake it up since it is a convertible and is a truck, I don't think they intended for it to be a ball of lightning but at least Chev is trying to get some of the younger crowd back on their side.

I'll take your word on that, although I'd read that the payload was limited to 500lb; and two passengers, plus 500lb, plus a folding top doesn't add up to two and a quarter tons unless you're Mercedes, IMHO.

I like the look -- a lot -- but wonder if they'd gotten more bang for the buck with SSR style front end styling on a regular S10 and left it at that.
