2001 Windstar 3.8 rough engine

So for the last month when driving or idleing my engine seems like it's not getting enough fuel or gas, and kind of jumps so to speak, and every now and then it makes a popping noise. no check engine light has come on, and I recently replaced the fuel filter to start. Next I'm thinking either fuel pump or possibly fuel injectors or beyond that I have no idea. I haven't had any tests done yet, and was hoping someone would have a suggestion.

have you checked/cleaned the IAC? How old is your air filter? You could run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner thru in case you got some bad/wet/dirty gas. Has the van run the tank down to the very bottom? Sometimes any gunk will get sucked into the fuel pump (not good) and it'll require replacement. That's a nasty job but fairly well documented here. I'd start with the IAC and filter first. You also could have a small vac leak tho I think it'd throw a code. Try those couple of things and see.

Along with pipers suggestions I would still check for any pending codes. How many miles. Posible camshaft position sensor and synchronizer. Check the fuel pressure with a gauge before replacing pump. AUtozonee or Orielys should have a fuel pressure tester in thier loan a tool programs.

I have run fuel injector cleaner, and I never let it go below 1/4 of a tank of fuel, and air filtersvwere just changed a month ago. Iac is what exactly? Vehicle has 193,000 miles at the moment
