06 sv6 keyless remote programming

Tried the 1998-2004 method I found here on AF on a new unit for my 06 to no avail. Has the procedure changed, and if so, to what? Or did I just screw up somewhere? A little help B4 I run to a dealer and many thanks.

You can try this but: http://www.remotesremotes.com/2006-P...ker-s/5614.htm

says you need a dealer or locksmith.

Thanks! I'll give their suggested procedure a shot in the morning B4 calling for dealer help.

OK This didn't work either. Can't get into program mode. Thanks anyway.

Sounds like you need a Tech II scanner at a dealership......

Re: 06 sv6 keyless remote programming

I looked into this thoroughly when I first got our '06 SV6 several years ago. I found that there was no way around it but to have the dealer do it. They only charged me for half hour of time although it took them 1.5 hours to do it.

First you check if the remote works, with a special tool....Then, from the time they opened the door, attached the Tech II, and turned the key on, should have been 5 minutes, tops...10 minutes at most....otherwise, they didn't know what they were doing....

Yeah, it was pretty clear the guy didn't know what he was doing. Seemed like every time I looked in he was staring at the dashboard with a confused look on his face while on the phone with somebody. They even admitted he had some "unusual problems" with the programming and that's why they only charged me for the half hour. Still wasted my time though.
