95' chevy s-10 blazer tranny problems

Hi I have a 95' chevy s-10 blazer 4WD, with a vortec v6 and I have to manually shift from 1st to 2nd then into drive from a stop. Once shifted into drive she runs beautifully and I've done a fluid and filter change along with an oil change. When your at a stop and put it into drive she wont slip into gear. If someone knows what's wrong I'm begging please tell me. I was told its gonna be 2000 dollars to look at it from a to z transmissions. I'm hoping its a simple do it yourself fix. Thank you for reading this. And if you have any idea what it might be please let me know, thanks.

There is no way anybody can know what the problem is until it has been properly tested and checked out.
Your A to Z transmissions full of crap if they tell you that without checking it out.
Your problem could be electrical or computer or sensor or the hole transmission bad.

You need to.
Get a good repair shop to check it out.
Let us know how it goes.
