Reason I vote sweat, is those look very similar to cycling shorts/pants and those have chamois cloths sewn between the legs there to adsorb swamp ass fluids.

Flipped to a random episode of Portlandia (which is now what I do when I dont know what else to watch or do) and it was CatNap/"She's Makin Jewelry Now" episode. Quality 22 minutes that was
