is there anyone out there that has a 1987 sel 420 withe headlite problems please help me

i bought this 1987 Mercedes benz and all of a sudden i got this problem;o i found a wire from the left headlite to the fuse box so i unhooked the wire and now the headlite don't work so i got my trouble lite and tested the headlite harness with the headlite switch on which had 3 wires coming out and none of them has power so i tested the #12 and #4 fuse and the fuse holder and even cleaned the contacts and no power trouble lite does not lite up is there sumthing im missing could it be the dimmer,wiper,turn signal switch i cannot drive car at nite please help
