The longer I sit here, the more I wish I had made that call when I was outside. Once I get back in the house it takes some major motivation to get me to leave

Today its a balmy 17 degrees I believe with probably a wind chill of 5-10. I think I heard the high tomorrow will be single digits. The worst is probably still ahead though. Last year it was Feb/March that smacked the city the hardest

Then again, the weather report is as reliable as this site has been lately so it could be 55 tomorrow for all I know

ouch. we had a couple weeks of really cold, then it kinda warmed up. I expect cold to slam down again at any moment.

Anyone else feel like, even with $5 subs, subway is still kind of a ripoff?

Well when ALL the sammiches were $5 I thought it was fine, but my roast beef sub is "premium" and costs like $7 for a footlong. If Im gonna spend that much on a sandwich I could make myself then I'll go to Jimmy Johns for a #12

Thats because cow by-product is more expensive than chicken by-product.

I've never had Jimmy Johns, but I hear good things.

all things being equal, I'd go Jimmy Johns over Subway but its so much easier to find a Subway

I'd take Quiznos over subway for sure- but as you said, subways are like starbucks.

Usually I hit up the local food carts (solid block of them right up from where I work) but most of them do not accept cards, so when I have no cash on me I go to subway for lunch.

You'll have an easier time finding a elephant riding a tricycle than you will finding a Quiznos around here. I know of one (if its still open) and its about 25 miles away from here, near my old apartment

Damn. There are a few scattered across Portland. Subway on the other hand- I can name 4 within probably 6 blocks- and those are just the ones that I know of, there could be more.
