'92 Bravada on duty
With the spike in diesel fuel prices and winter on the way, the Bravada is back on duty and the Dodge/Cummins is in hibernation. The heater gets warmer quicker too on the 4.3L gasser than it does on a 900 lb diesel....just more iron to get up to temperature.
I add Lucas fuel treatment to lube the Bravada fuel pump. The 1st day, a #32 Trouble code popped up...EGR valve issue. I tapped on the EGR valve and the code went away. Then the left rear turn signal bulb started failing intermittently, even after working the bulb & socket. My buddy, a retired genuine Line Mechanic, advised me to just replace the bulb and he gave me a bulb. No more bulb issue. It seems the filament is not attached well on some bulbs and sometimes work & sometimes not. The radio is a problem. The right-front channel fails. I may have to go to the aftermarket for tunes. |

I got tunes! Boughta close-out cheapo radio, not as good as a Philco but sounds ok.

Brought the Dodge out of hibernation and put the car cover on the Bravada for the summer...gotta do truck stuff like hauling.

The Dodge is parked after making 507hp/1050ft.lbs. torque on Bean's Diesel Perf. dyno a week ago.
The Bravada cleaned up good and is running well. Always a pleasure to drive.

The Bravadas are fun to drive. Ours is having fuel issues again. I think it's just the regulator, pulling the plenum and taking a look tomorrow. Had to change out the front hub. Just normal wear and tear stuff. Planning on taking it on the Christmas run to California again.

Driver's side leak, fuel line(s)/nut kit. Anyone ever figure out why they call it a Nut Kit?
Passenger side leak, regulator....if I remember correctly. I think Dorman products has the regulator. Oh yeah, I much prefer our Borg Warner 4472 transfer case over anything else I've had. The NP205 in the '70 GMC was fair but you had to disengage it before you ran off the slick stuff or it would try to bind up, necessitating backing up several feet to unbind things....whatta pain.
Has anyone had to replace the lower ball joints yet? I get a funny noise backing up and using the brakes with the wheels turned, like backing out on to the street. |
