Caprice 1986 Tranny and carb
Hello guys
I'd like to know if the Transmission of Caprice 86 has some electrical connection (for control), can disconnect it and still use the car? Dose it has an electrical carburetor? if yes can I dissconnect it and still can use the car with out any problem? Which caprice you would recommend 86 or 79? Thank you. |

You may also disconnect the electric lines to the carburetor (both M/C solenoid and TPS), but don't expect to get more than 5MPG, or have enough power to take pleasure in driving. Now, having said that, why would you want to disconnect either one? The computer system that runs both actually contributes to better driveability on the car, and better fuel economy. It's not recommended to remove either one. The 1986 is a better car than the 1979, due to improvements over the years.
