Re: Started to build my first 1/24 kit.. tamiya 93 Supra. Need some tips and suggestions
Good work so far, clean paint for a 1st 1/24 kit.
One advice I would give is to give a wash to your engine, mix 1/4 metallic shade (like bronze or dark metallic) or black paint with 3/4 water and apply it like if washing with a big brush without trying to cover surfaces, that will make details more visible. it's a smal tip that can be simple to do and substantly change the look of parts.

Yikes! Looks like a dog chewed on it! You could probably still shape it to look ok, if not 100% exact...

Full sized plastics you could repair using a soldering iron, body filler and heavy sanding, so in the smaller scale you can use Evercoat Glazing Putty on styrene according to a couple other modelling forums. You could fill it and level all the surfaces out then use a blow dryer or carefully use a heat gun to form the spoiler back to its original shape.

Its not gonna be 100% for sure but I'm not gonna be satisfied with just "ok" either. I will only go with the spoiler if I can make it look right for the car, as if that's how it came with the kit.

Can anyone tell me where I can find a 1:24 hood like this one?

You can also dilute Tamiya smoke (x19?) in water to make your wash paint, if so it won't cover decals like paint even if slightly passing above. |

That hood is a Carbon Creations TD3000, which is a USDM manufacturer so that kind of limits other 1:24 Supras that would have it. It looks to be a carbon fiber OEM style with the vents cut into it and screen mesh tacked to the underside of the hood so like corvettekid said, you'll have to cut one yourself and tack scaled mesh under it.

Your work looks good to me. I really like the sheen on the interior. It looks like leather/vinyl coated with armor-all (which I would not recommend on a 1;1 car since its too greasy).
