vacuum line removal - 2000 ls v6

does anyone know how the vacuum lines going into the top of the left and right valve covers come lose ? i can't get the lower intake out without taking these lose and do not want to break them.

Squeeze the plastic ring at the end and pull at the same time. There are notches on the ring where your fingers go.
