how reliable is an 01 Mercury Cougar????
im interested in buying an 01 mercury cougar with 117,000 miles on it my father is a mechanic and wanted me to come on here and get some feedback while he is at work today before we go check out the car....????

I helped my daughter by a 1999 V6 with an automatic seven years ago. The car had a little over 150K at that time and is now pushing 289K with no trouble with the engine or transmision. I too am a mechanic and have done all the maintenace and repair, the car ahs been a good reliable pice of transportation for her. Properly maintained that car should run a long time.
