Coolant ( AntiFreze ) Leakage

Last night i was driving and everything was fine...when i arrived home i suddenly saw a little bit of smoke coming out the right side of the car ( from the drivers perspective ). I open the hood and there was little bit of coolant squirting up. But i coulnt tell from were. The smoke was hot coolant vapor....so basically it seems im leaking from some where but i dont know from were....i was hoping some one could help me so i can patch it up or replace the part...here are some pictures i took...Its is a 96 Mercury sable, 3.0

This is the front, the tube is right next to the coolant resevoir..i think i see a little puddle under the resevoir also...

This is the middle at the bottom of the right side between the resevoiur and the firewall.

This is all the way back behind the resevoiur, on the firewall.

would it be possible to give an educated guess, as from were is the leak happening, from these pictures?...thank you.

What's the model year and engine size? I got your top picture to load, but, not the other two? If you think the reservoir is leaking, take it off and take a look.

I can see the top and bottom picture, but, not the middle one. I also have had problems adding attachments. I can't tell where the leak it's coming from?

What year is the vehicle?

Re: Coolant ( AntiFreze ) Leakage

Today driving back home in the rain, smoke started coming out again from the hood but the engine temp needle was not high...i pulled over to a hidden parking lot and pop open the hood...the smoke seemed to be coolant vapor...and there was coolant squirting up but i couldnt tell from were because the running belt seemed to be spreading it all over the place....i decided to wing it all the way home and filled the coolant container ..but it seemed to come straight out, through the bottom of the car....dang...i turned off the car to let it cool for a little bit....5 minutes later, in the pouring rain, ..i had to wing it home so filled the tank again, then i start the car and when i was about to leave..for goodness sake, i could not turn the steering wheel....DANG...so i pull forward again and pop the hood...my belt slipped off its path...im guessing the coolant with water might have greased it up so it could slip.how am i going to get out of this one....i was lucky i found two wrenches in my trunk and one that fitted, and used one to loosen the tensioner...i didnt have enough leverage so i put one wrench behind the other and managed to work with that ( pulled a mcGuyver with that one )....as i was fixing the belt i noticed the water pump wheel was a wobbling and a loose...it was raining a a little harder so i picked up the pace and put the belt back in place....turned oon the car and started to drive...everything seemed fine..except i could here a little noise that wasent there before and im thinking its the coolant that soaked the belt..as im driving .. my predictions were correct to some extent and its starts to rain more....as im driving, on my first turn...SSFFIPP!...half way on the turn the belt slips off and for goodnase sake...i felt like i was pumping iron...theres no point in pulling over and fix it again...its going to keep slipping off ...so i took it home like that...because it was raining and every body was driving slow..i managed to use that in my favor..and made some of the slowest turns ever...but it looked EXTREMELY normal..because every body was doing it..cuz it was raining...conclusion...the leaking antifreeze, could it be from a bad-old water pump?..the wheel for the water pump was loose and wobbling..could it be that thats causing my coolant to leak?...i took a video to show the bottom of the car leaking in the rain lol ( crazy stuff lol )..ill put it up when i figure out how to upload to the forums....thank you guys for your time and suggestions..hope to get an answer ..cheers..

Pressure test the coolant system. Most parts stores have a "loan a tool" program. Easy check to find the leak. Yes if you water pump is "wobbling" then that probably would throw the belt and the source of the leak. But pressure test first.

Re: Coolant ( AntiFreze ) Leakage

I didnt pressure test it...just changed the water pump and and the car is back to normal....the only thing now is, it makes a loud bussing sound.. think its from the antifreeze that dry up on the belt and bearings....i put some wd-40 and the sound stopped for like 2 days then it came but not so loud this time..
