Re: New Mclaren F1 website

Had a look at it this morning and it looks very nice.

The longtail GTR should not be labeled the F1 GT - hopefully they will fix that as it has the potential to create some confusion.

Re: New Mclaren F1 website

Finally. It's been far too long, in my opinion. Glad to see some F1 content on McLaren's own site now.

Thanks for the heads up!

Re: New Mclaren F1 website

Had time to look through the whole site, really impressed

Some really ace pics in the six hundred plus site gallery, love the early F1 development pics, plus new content from MSO, top work.

Although its a shame about some of the mistakes, someone needs to sit down and check through all the content again

Re: New Mclaren F1 website

They've updated this over the past few days with a link to MSO [not the man himself, just his department ]

http://cars.mclaren.com/featured-art...perations.html

Its a good read and some ace pictures!

Re: New Mclaren F1 website

After reading the article, I wondered if a customer wanted a 691 engine for his/her F1, would MSO build it?

You can get anything built if you pay enough.

Re: New Mclaren F1 website

This post from 2006 is why I question the possibility:

As I say, only two owners took up the proposition. Ever since this time McLaren have said that the offer is no longer available.
As minimagic points out, with enough money you can obtain almost anything, so who knows?

After this offer expired, BMW put one of the remaining engines in a company X5.
Also, don't you find it strange that "we" only know of two cars that had the 691 engine? If it is simply a cost issue, surely other F1 owners would have opted for it?
