Need some advice on hose fittings(Top Studio)

Hey guys so I've got an XJ220 from Tamiya that I' trying to put extra detail into. I need help making hose fittings. I dont know how to use a solder and I dont really feel like using one. So I was thinking about buying a set of Top Studio resin hose joints. You get a lot of fittings for the money.

My problem is that I have never used Top Studio joints before and they come in 3 sizes. I know that the large is too big but I was wondering if anyone had experience with the small and medium hose joints and how they look?

Here's what I'm trying to replicate. Particularly the hoses around the fuel filters(the gold cylinder things). I have several options for braided lines already, I have some detail master braided lines and some other alternative options.

I've read the how to on making hose fittings with styrene tube and I'll be using that as well. Any suggestions on this at all would be a huge help. What size do you think best replicates this? The medium or small set of hose joints?



Here's a reference of size. While I understand the sizes from the photo I'd like to know how they look on an assembled engine or if anyone has personal photos of them I would appreciate it.

When it comes to wiring and plumbing engines I tend to go towards what looks right vs. trying to find an exact scale match to something. Nobody (except perhaps Rallymaster )is going to pull out a caliper and measure a fitting to tell you it's the wrong size, just make sure it doesn't look so large it appears out of place.

I even don't know what size a fitting or a caliper is supposed to be !!

Hi mate,
Though not familiar with the Top Studio fittings, this is what I've used and done in the past. NOT the best reference pics, sorry , but the best I had on hand.

Looking at those fittings you have, they look as though they may be drillable (?) being resin. If they are, I have used .5mm solder as the fuel/oil line. It scales up nicely to approximately half inch on a 1/24 build.
Cut the solder to a slightly longer length than required, allow for bends and twists...It can than be "rolled" under a fine file, this helps replicate the "braided look".
Drill the resin fittings to suit (.5mm), insert the end of the solder line, and a drop of super glue will hold them.
