Re: No backup lights, fuse/bulbs ok
Got hold of a parts van, and swapped over the transaxle-range-switch and both rear-lights, yet the reverse still doesn't work. All parts from both vans work on the donor-vehicle and produce reverse lights, yet all parts from both vans on the daily-driver don't. So, it's something else.
BTW, swapping the transaxle-range-switch was in the top-two of all-time curse-inducing, bad-memory-creating parts-swaps I've ever done, ever. Three bolts and two connectors, buried under the piping, with minimal access from the left/front wheel-wheel. Best use of flex-sockets, ever. Yet... eghads. Digging through the wiring diagram, there appears to be something called a "Body Control Module". This would make sense, in that if the BCM is bad, the input form the range-switch would break everything electrical related to gear selection, such as reverse lights only go on when in reverse, and power-sliding-door only works when in poark. Google says that it's located under the dash, on the right side. Where exactly is this module, and do I have to remove anything , such as the glove box? Also, would a BCM from a '99 Premier work as a parts-donor for an '00 Premier? Thx! |
