Revell Snap-Tite 1/24 Enzo Ferrari

I wanted to add a blue Enzo to my fleet of Ferrari models, but didn't want to spend a lot of time or money. I already have two Tamiya kits in progress for red and yellow, and finished a detailed Revell kit in black, and a curbside Fujimi in silver. Last year, Revell released a perfect item which fits the bill, an inexpensive and easy-to-build Snap-Tite version of Enzo Ferrari in 1/24 scale.
Body dimensions are accurate, and the level of detail is adequate.

I didn't do much to the interior, except for adding a rear view mirror (not pictured) and applying various shades of CF decals from Scale Motorsport and Studio 27.
Engine room is mildly detailed. A part of engine block and transmission were scratchbuilt, and the exhaust headers were made with electrical wires. I also added two supporting rods, because the lack of those is quite noticeable from outside.

I painted the body with Finisher's Seaside Blue (R34 GT-R color) as a part of experiment to see how the base color affects the body color. In order to darken the tone, I painted the body in gloss black first. I used Testors One Coat Lacquer for the first time, and I like the glossiness and hardness of this clear, which is friendly to sanding and polishing once it's completely dry.

Wiper is omitted in the kit, so I took one from a Tamiya kit, which will be detailed with Studio 27 PE parts. I also lowered the ride height a bit, and added a spacer between the chassis and brake rotor/caliper parts, so they are more visible.

And here's the finished model.

The kit would have been perfect, if it had a rear view mirror and wiper. Also, the bottom rear corner of the chassis (normally painted in black) should have been molded with the chassis part, so there wouldn't be a seam between the corner piece and the diffuser.
Nevertheless, the kit offers a great value for money, and Revell should make more of this kind (hopefully exotic cars in 1/24 scale).

That looks really good for a snap fit kit. Well done with the painting and the interior detailling!

Very nice work from a simple start! It looks really great. I love the Testors one coat for my models that get painted with rattle cans, goes on smooth and dries quickly and hard just like you said. Great model!

Excellent job, considering it's a very simple kit! The paint finish is superb to say the least!
