Re: Sam Posey's 1970 Challenger T/A

Fantastic job, Dave, and great article in the magazine.

I'd been looking forward to this SAE issue since the "next issue" tease in the previous one, just because this car is one I am very interested in doing. I have the Revell kit, the Cady decals, Mike's Minilite wheels, and Testors ModelMaster sublime green paint.

I'm glad for the opportunity to ask you about the tires you used. You call them Revell road race tires, but can you give some info on what kit(s) those are from or an alternate source of similar tires? The info with the Mike's SpeedShop Minilites says they fit Monogram Vintage Racing tires () or the Revell/Fujimi GT-40 tires. But I hate the idea of raiding one of my unbuilt GT-40 kits for the tires. Do you (or anyone) have any suggestions for alternatives?

Thanks,
Cameron

Great looking build! Don't recall seeing this mentioned in the article, but how did you do the strip on the windshield?

Re: Sam Posey's 1970 Challenger T/A

Thanks guys...... To answer a few questions:

The road race tires can be found in the revell Mustang GT-350R kits, the old Corvette Stars and Stripes greenwood kit and the new corvette rebel racer kit.

The windshield factory fade is a decal from detail master.
