Re: 1/24 scale Porsche 934 from Tamiya!

Hello,

thanks for posting these pictures here.
At first look I don't say "Woow",
but this is probably not the end product?

I'm a bit dissapointed in the fenders extensions, they seems to have no rivet hole's?
(I thought Tamiya would make these )

I also think the rims will come in chrome. ( at least I hope )

It looks nice, but it will cost twice the Heller kit I assume.

Regards,
joka-1

Looks like it is a simplified curbside like the latest offerings from Fujimi.

The model has been released. According to the photo posted, there are rooms for perfection.

Re: 1/24 scale Porsche 934 from Tamiya!

Looks like they kept the price down on this kit. All the roof problems on the early 1/24th Tamiya 911 based cars is fixed. No engine but still seems a very good value with Cartograf and photoetch.

Re: 1/24 scale Porsche 934 from Tamiya!

will surely buy one, or more than one.
Curbside 934 are always nice, and even better if not too high price.
Also DMC finally made the vaillant decals (i've already got..) 24-374

Re: 1/24 scale Porsche 934 from Tamiya!

I bought a couple: it would be a superb platform for my Sc transkit, with the roll cage and all the other stuff, and skipping the body issues, I'll offer a TK for the SC for very reasonnable price.... and with a full engine; we'll see if it is worth to work on 934 gears like PE intercooler and stuff and offers a engine pack for the 934 also....

Re: 1/24 scale Porsche 934 from Tamiya!

Gio,

Great news!
Count on me for two SC transkits with full engine and three engine packs for the 934 if they ever see the light!

Re: 1/24 scale Porsche 934 from Tamiya!

Looks like many of us will be busy building Porsches this year as Studio27 will release a bunch of decals for the 934 in mid April. Gotta grab at least 2 sets of Vaillant decals to build the blue and white Kremer-Vaillant cars!

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/list/1834/0/1

A 934 transkit with pe, full engine and perhaps fuel tank details would be perfect! I'm in for at least two sets if it ever gets produced.

Hi

Got the kit. For some reason there are no Dunlop decals in the kit. Aftermarket to the rescue... again... :-(

Dunlop decals in front of the rear wheel arches where they should be.

Did Tamiya just forget these "Dunlop"decals? or is there a reason for this? Does anyone know?

Re: 1/24 scale Porsche 934 from Tamiya!

Dunlop was included as recent as 2011 in the reissue of Porsche 961, but not in 2012 release of Mazda 787B. It must be just a cost-cutting measure, like Tamiya did with other tire manufacturers.
It'd be nice if Tamiya released a plain white version at a cheaper price, like Fujimi does. Then we can get a complete set of aftermarket decal without deliberate omission.

Re: 1/24 scale Porsche 934 from Tamiya!

Hello,
I recieved mine las week, but I noticed the black strip under the door isn't correct.
It has to be a single black strip on the body, not 2. I think they've taken this one from the street version.

Regards,

Re: 1/24 scale Porsche 934 from Tamiya!

Got one finally. Typical curbside and missing decals - Dunlop and Shell logo!! I wonder if any aftermarket will just produce these two logos for the kit.

Re: 1/24 scale Porsche 934 from Tamiya!

Whats next? instead of a porsche logo there's a Volkswagen badge? F1 models without sponsorlogo's, Nice going Tamiya! no shell and dunlop decals....Why make this model if you cant even deliver all the Decals that should go with it! Another very expensive Disappointing model by Tamiya
