Volkswagen Golf Mk2 Rallye G60 | ScaleProduction resin transkit
Hello there,
I built the new Mk2 Rallye transkit for the modeling show in Jabbeke/Belgium, painted in Lamborghini grey metallic with BBS RS wheels. The timeframe was rather tight, but due to the excellent quality of the resin parts, the assembly was as smooth and flawless as a 1980's Tamiya kit. There was virtually no clean-up work required. All in all, top notch quality for a very reasonable price of EUR 55,-! I looked at the Fujimi-supplied rollcage and decided to scratchbuild my own from Evergreen rods. The rear bench stayed in place, because I didn't have the time to omit it. I used the RallyeGolf steering wheel and seats that came with the transkit and added seatbelt buckles for a little detail. A radio has been installed in the dashboard. I installed a strut tower brace in the rear and flocked the trunk and interior. Wheels are Tamiya, with ScaleProduction tires. The best piece of the kit is the grille. However, it did need a little convincing to sit perfectly, due to uneven thickness of the clearcoat in the grille recess. However, this shows how small the overall tolerances are on the kit. Awesome! Allright, on to the pics...          I'll post some interior pics later, if you wish. Sweetness!! The more i look at your build the more i feel a different set of wheels would look a little better IMO. Beautiful build none the less. And one of the first. I'm dying to start on mine.
