2013 Ferrari Expo Contest and Swap Meet

The annual event has come and gone. I had to leave about 1:45 PM, so I don’t know the winners of the contest. The GTR club had two tables at the swap meet. Tom Tanner had the contest going. It is a small focused contest, but quality of entries is high. I was working an entry, but I am only 90% complete, so no go. I did sell a few models at the swap meet.

Here are some photos of the contest and the link to the album, including the 1:1 cars that were “sitting” around.

Re: 2013 Ferrari Expo Contest and Swap Meet

Thanks to all who came again this year. We will do it all again next year, only even better!! We want good MODEL BUILDERS!!! As you can see from the photos the real cars on display are amazing and very rare. The back wall had 10 million dollars worth of Ferrari's. How many chances do you get to see Ferrari 225 and 166 Vignale's, series 1 250's or an ASA or 288GTO and 333SP together other than at Pebble Beach, but for free!

This year running the same weekend as the Route 66 1/43rd show turned out to be a good idea. We will do that again next year. The first time Ferrari Expo Route 66 1/43rd guys were very pleased with Continental Autosport's Ferrari display and said they would all come back. I know it added a few high end model tables and also brought in alot more traffic.
One new table was EMC, a Russian 1/43rd and 1/24th high end model company. You should see the built models they brought. I bought a 1/43rd Alfa Romeo 6C 2500SS built model from them. It's hard to believe humans could make a model this good!! These models make BBR builts look bad!

Until next year...............Start making your models now. We were down slightly on model contest count but everything else turned out better than last year.

Hi Tom,
Thanks again for a great show. Yeah, the contest was down a bit from previous years but still the stuff that showed up was great and the real stuff on display is never a disappointment. Looking forward to next years show!
