Unhappy So many cool cars...

I feel like I am so far behind when I come here. It makes me want to go out and spend every last penny I got on awesome mods. Then when I go back to real life, I think, dang, my car looks awesome, why would I ever want to change it?

Is this normal? I mean, complete mood change from one moment to the next...It's like road rage, one instant I'm normal guy, next instant I wanna mod the heck outa my car.

What are your thoughts?

No matter what you do to your car, someone will have done more. Odds are they probably did it first, too. So, like I think you already know, you gotta worry about what you like.

As one who can speak from experience on the subject of shaking out your pockets and dropping everything that falls to the ground into your car, I'll tell you that regret often follows. Of course, you will never be happy with your car until you do it, so it's kind of a tough call. If you can, try to wait it out. If you are able to put off the spending for long enough, you will probably move on and eventually think back and wonder why in the hell you ever wanted to sink so much money into your car.

You may be like me, however, who is one that has found that, (at least for me) there is NO greater pleasure in life than driving a nice, fast car. I can honestly measure my overall happiness as being that much greater when my car is running up to its abilities. Everything else seems to wither in importance. And that's how I justify the spending. But do I really need it? Of course not. ...Not sure if this helps you out or not.

when you see how much debt you have for modding your car, it makes you think, "boy I wish I was stock"!

So true... but then when you drive your car and then a stock car you say "Im glad Im not stock."

Darkwing:
Im the same way everday I look at my car and say "man I want this thing to be faster", then I find the mods I want to do and say "Damn thats a lot of money is it really worth it.. The answer is yes and no.. you are caught in a viscous cycle... All I need to do is this and the car will be fine, then after thats done, you find one more thing that needs to change... and more... and more...

The only thing I can tell you is... Dont make yourself go broke because of your car. Just do what you can with what you have.. If you take care of your car you should have it for a long time, and over that period of time all the parts will start adding up more and more... and you wont notice the big $$$ as much.. Good luck, remember even though your cars your life you are worth more, dont get in over your head.

That is true
racing rice, I wish I had more everyday. I am trying to get my car back together with all the parts, so that keeps me busy. But in the process, or when I am done, I'll be itching for the new shit.
I cant put my turbo kit on w/o internals first as much as I want to!
I saw this 99 Black Integra GSR, with white Te-37s and a full greddy turbo kit, with internals, at the local tuner shop, and let me tell you, no matter what you have someone will always out do you.

Pick the mods you really love first, even if they cost more.
My rims and suspension, are indeed my favorite, and at times like today I look at it and say, "I am lucky to have a nice car for my age, I work hard for it"

It makes you feel good, but we live in competition, and as stupid as it is, we fall victim to the tuner, obsessive compulsive disorder, and the only harm it does is to your wallet.
