Le Man has nailed it. The original dash pod to the left of the steering wheel was fitted with the dial to control the rear brake balance foil, a component that so far as I can tell the F1 GT has never had and would not need to control.

I looked to see if it was there in the retrimmed interior early on and the few photos I had were inconclusive except for this one shot Roger shared from his encounter with the car in 1997 where it was clearly still there:

Present day, compare the panel in Oreca's photo which is missing that knob.

I'd love to know what equipment you use?

Also do you plan to share those anywhere at high resolution? I can understand if you say no, but I would love to have larger versions of these.

Welcome to the forum - I hope you find some of the other topics here interesting as well.

Thanks Eric!
I use a Nikon D80 with Nikkor 18-200 VR II and 10-24mm lens

Of Course i want to share the pics in hi-res. You can download them by clicking on the thumbnail. Do you have photoshoped the colors a bit in the version thats in your signature? It looks more brighter. Because I do not have PS, Could you do that also with the hi-res version and post the result here or via PM? Tia!

Yeh, I need a lot of lost weekends and some vacations to read all the interesting info on here! Hopefully It helps me to finally see a roadcar in real life! I've been very close a few times, last year i missed #012 at Carugati Geneva by one week

So do we reckon we'll see more public outings for the GT this year?

Goodwood perhaps? Be nice to see it run up the hill.

Yes - I played around with the colors a bit and can do the same with the original. I also eliminated the wire barrier from the display which I can probably do again with the large version.

The levers are on both door frames. The 'E' lever is for the release on the upper engine cover. Both sides can be used to do the same thing. Once the upper engine cover has been opened, the rear engine cover can then be raised as well. The 'L' lever is for the side luggage compartment. Each one operates only the luggage door on that side of the car.

The snow didnt defeat me! You guys will laugh, I was so determined to get there that I bought a Eurostar ticket and an Airline ticket just to make sure I would not miss out, more money than sense I guess. Still worth it though, ( and to think I live like 5 miles from Woking)

Good thing Henry published that disclaimer about covering your travel costs.

There is nothing else planned for the GT I'm afraid, it is going back into hibernation in less than an hour unfortunately...

There should however be something interesting for you lot going up the hill this year.

Is there any plans or changes to get #01R or XP1 LM here in Finland to some motorshow or BMW dealer show room?

OK, thanks for your answer. It so great to read facts than rumours.

I wish you would some year bring the Le Mans winner here in North.
JJ Lehto did superb job with the car in that Le Mans and I think it would be very popular if that would be possible some year.
I know it's not free to transport it here long to the North from UK but it would be very fantastic.

I have to add still this; last time when we saw GTR's here were 1997 Helsinki Thunder race weekend in FIA GT1 Championship. Not a single McLaren's after that. But someway I understand it, the location is not the ideal one.

Anyway; thanks for answer!
