I'll share some more photos, but here is a first one. I'm not such a good photographer, but it's okay I hope.

Welcome to the forum Vincent - I am certainly pleased to hear that my spamming of the announcement on the appearance of this car in Brussels reached some people who were able to go and enjoy the event.

Seeing this F1 as your first is also tremendously special!

Also - no need to knock your abilities. I quite like that first photo you have shared and am sure I will enjoy the rest as well.

Re: 56XPGT / 056 F1 GT / XPGT displayed at Dream Cars for Wishes show in Brussels

In Patrick's video, I noticed for the first time that the GT does have window glass in between the interior and engine compartment, just as you will find on the F1 road cars. I would have suspected those to have been eliminated since the engine cover is solid carbon and does not allow for a rearward view. Perhaps the glass was eliminated from that piece simply to save some weight?

Anyway - it is neat all the little details of the GT that are coming to light from this event. There was never a magazine article written on the GT that I ever saw, and even the brochure which I am pleased to own doesn't make much of this clear. Once again I am so pleased that McLaren made this happen - hopefully getting it some exposure will improve the GT's level of appreciation among more enthusiasts.

It's fascinating, isn't it ? This car was last seen in public in 1997, before everyone had a camera etc, before high-res images etc... So, we had little more than those brochure photo's, and now in a few days time we learn a lot more about every possible angle of this car thanks to the age of mass media.

Ok, that puts things in perspective, I guess I have nothing to complain about then.

Re: 56XPGT / 056 F1 GT / XPGT displayed at Dream Cars for Wishes show in Brussels

Quiz time: Who can spot the two unique things (besides the obvious change in colors) about this photo from the original F1 GT brochure taken of this same car very early in its life?

Both are different on the car now and I find one of them to be rather strange in the first place.

And another question, who else has noticed this plate and has a better picture of it?

We would call it a mirror mount, or mouting arm, but yes - that's one.

Also, thank you for all of your pictures. Great to see every single one of them.

We have had a previous discussion here about that plate on the back of the seat in the F1.

Read post #5 in this thread and almost all will be explained:
