Re: 56XPGT / 056 F1 GT / XPGT displayed at Dream Cars for Wishes show in Brussels

A problem occurred to me; I fell in love with some 'plastics' today
Wow, wow, wow, what a beaty it is in real ife.
And what a genius has decided to paint the GT in this gorgeuos colour, it is green, but also blue and purple.

Some answers / experiences from today.
If you 're very polite, than you do need to pay the entrance fee, but if you say you're there for the dream cars only, you can walk through (I did).
The same at the entrance of the dream-cars show, because it's for charity I paid.
With many many thanks to Henry, a Ginion member opened the right door for me. Unfortunatly, before I could take my bigger camera he closed it already, and I could'n make more than a few pics with my compact camera only.

Be aware, for those who 're entering the show; don't fall in love when you're there . . .

Here some of the pics I took you might like:

Perhaps the most interesting photo so far for me is this one:

No fan-assisted ground effect on the F1 GT. Of course it wasn't there on the GTRs, but I am surprised it isn't present on the road version. Always cool when you learn something new.

Thanks!

Yep it looks fantastic. "British Racing Green" is the best color choise defenitely of this kind of car.
Thank you for all your images, I was suprised how cheap that show is. I don't have such as long trip than serval else in this Forum, but still no changes to go, even I'm in Europe and not Asia or USA.

But have to thank McLaren and Henry to bring this car on this show, such a uniq beatifull car and finally we fans can get some images of this super rare F1..

Hello to all.
Great pictures Arjan and nice to have met you!
This is my first post here. Yesterday I met Arjan at Brussels Motor Show and he gave a heads-up to this forum.
I had no idea there an f1 could be present in Brussels, So it was a great surprice to see (finaly) my first Mclaren F1 yesterday in Brussels. I could hardly sleep of it last night (no really!)

Here some pics of mine:

Re: 56XPGT / 056 F1 GT / XPGT displayed at Dream Cars for Wishes show in Brussels

I would've thought it was insured for more than that - that's close to standard road car money, and there's lots more of them...

Oh and Patrick, I think your post was missing something.....

And it's also great to see that the GT has a great following. I've always loved the car and was thrilled to finally meet the variant of the F1 I had yet to see, and feel very fortunate to have seen it recently up close. Some in the F1 arena, F1 owners included, believe the car to be less of an attraction than the road car due to its 'ungainly' looks and conception only to get the 1997 GTR's homologated for racing, but for me, for its rarity and aura, it's right up there with the best of the F1's.

Many thanks must go to Henry and those at Mclaren for allowing others to see the car, and for everyone who has seen and taken photo's of the car for sharing them for those who were unable to attend the event - I am looking forward to more pictures

Curious that anyone from McLaren would discuss anything close to economics regarding these heritage cars. Especially insurance values as they would publicly advertise an actual appraisal value made by the insurance company.

No Sami- replacement value for catastrophic loss. It's probably part of the insurance rider for this event. McLaren would have this insured separately under the companies "blanket" and pay a (probably close to that amount) premium for the entire corporation.

No no no Sami!! It's insured FOR 6 million!! Which means that should something happen to the car Mclaren, it's covered for that amount.
