1995 PA base Automatic Climate Control dead
Here is the problem similar to other post here but did not want to add onto an old post so I started a new one.
My Automatic Climate Control is dead, no display only backlight on with headlights at night. Started to flash and beep and then went dead, once it chirped for a few seconds but died again. I check the ground at both door sills so I removed the Climate Control unit and checked for continuity from the plug that goes into the Climate Control unit and it was still grounded so that is not the problem. Next I checked for power coming into the plug and that also was good. So I'm I safe to assume that my Climate Control unit (part #16181974) is the part that is bad? I don’t want to buy one from the bone yard or dealer and still have a problem but I don’t know what else to check for. Any thoughts on the matter? I forgot to say that when I unplugged the Climate Control unit from the wiring harness the car would still blow air up to the window and floor like it did when the unit was plugged into the harness. So this makes me think it maybe the Climate Control unit because it has no effect whether it is plugged in or not to the harness. Last edited by TerryWalter; 01-07-2013 at 06:17 PM. Re: 1995 PA base Automatic Climate Control dead
I found a junk yard that I can pull my own parts. They should have a matching climate control head for my car and should cost less than $35.00. So should I go ahead and pick one up and try it or is there a way to test my old unit before I spend the money and find out it really was something else wrong? Any thoughts?

I went and pulled out a climate control from the junk yard for $24.00 and thank god when I plugged it into my car it worked. The only thing I needed to do was swap out the front face plate because the junk yard one mounted on the sides but mine mounted from the top. So all said and done I am glad that its over.

Re: 1995 PA base Automatic Climate Control dead
Glad it worked for you. I have had problems with my 02 climate control for quite some time now. It is very difficult to regulate the temperature-either too hot or too cold. I am believe it relates to the electric motors in the actuator doors though.
